Come indulge in delicious local food and wine at AfriCamps at Stanford Hills. This camp is set on a boutique wine farm in Stanford, an exciting slow food destination with chefs serving an array of fresh and locally produced food. They have 5 glamping tents situated on the foothill of the Klein River Mountain range overlooking a dam and the Stanford Valley. This foodie delight is only a fifteen-minute drive from Hermanus and can be reached from Cape Town in two hours.

Hiking: There are 2 circular trails to explore. The 5km red trail passes the tents, so you can start and finish at the tent. There is also a 2km yellow trail

Set on one of the biggest working Ostrich farms in Southern Africa, this AfriCamps location is one to experience. (Don’t miss the authentic ostrich tour if you want to see these amazing creatures up close.) A large portion of the farm has been made available to a wide variety of free-roaming game and the popular ostrich tour is a short drive away on the same property. Among the free-roaming game you will find 12 of our luxury boutique camping tents positioned around a big water dam. *Please note that Oudtshoorn is currently experiencing a severe drought. Although there is ample water for your use, the dam levels may fluctuate due to this extreme drought.

Authentic Working Ostrich Farm Tour
A unique guided tour of our working ostrich farm, including an exclusive viewing of the incubator and each stage of ostrich farming. During season you can even help the chicks hatch! (+/- 2 hours)
Monday-Sunday | Daily scheduled tours @9h00. Private tours (outside of the scheduled times) for smaller groups are available on request.
One of the highlights when visiting us is the introduction of our Meerkat Family! Join us on an early morning drive down to the Meerkat burrows. Your guide will introduce you to the daily lives of these cute creatures. Wait patiently with a cup of coffee/tea in the hand, as they start to appear in the early morning to start their day. A once in a lifetime experience, only possible in the Little Karoo. *Meerkats are wild animals and sightings are not guaranteed. Meerkats are observed from a distance and no petting is allowed.
Start or end your day with a safari and discover the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the Little Karoo. In our wildlife reserve that comprises an area of over 5000 hectares, our guide introduces you to some of the indigenous Karoo vegetation, some to be found nowhere else in the world. An opportunity to see not only species such as giraffe, springbok, kudu, eland and wildebeest, but also some of the almost 150 species of birds, including the fish eagle.

Join them for a hike amongst the beautiful unspoilt veld that surrounds Africamps. Here you can take a closer look at all the smaller things that make the Little Karoo ecosystem tick, from special adaptations that the plants employ to survive, to medicinal uses. Have a look at the finer detailof many animals that are often overlooked. Enjoy the surrounding scenery and lose yourself in nature with us.

Cango Wildlife Ranch

This tour will take you through a number of different halls, each enchanting you with its own mystery and wonder. Fun for the whole family, this tour will capture your imagination and educate you on the beauty of these formations.

And there it is! AfriCamps bang in the middle of the uber-popular Garden Route. AfriCamps at Ingwe is situated in the Crags, a lush forest and Fynbos area embraced by the coastal town of Plettenberg Bay where you can experience all the Garden Route is so famous for. Their high elevated tents boast outstanding views of rolling green hill tops surrounded by deep indigenous forested valleys and the Tsitsikamma Mountain Range. Three of the tents now offer a private wood-fired hot tub where you can take in the breathtaking view while listening to the crackle of fire under the African sky. A wood-fired hot tub is the purest form of relaxation and enjoying the outdoors, ideal for those starry winter nights.

Three of our six tents offer the exclusive use of their own outdoor wood-fired hot tub. A wood-fired hot tub is the purest form of relaxation and enjoying the outdoors. Back to nature, while listening to the crackle of fire under the African sky. Guests have the choice to book a tent with or without a tub when making their booking.
Guests are welcome to enjoy the pool, with children to be accompanied at all times.
Picnic at the dams
The dams are within walking distance of the AfriCamps tents. Gather your picnic goodies from one of the neighbouring farm stalls and enjoy a sumptuous picnic at the various picnic sites along the farm dams.
Go fishing with a local
Take a fishing trip with a local from the area who can show you the best river or beach for fishing. Their local guide will help you with a few local tips and tricks to better your chances of making that catch! Please enquire on availability.
The Couch Potato Trail is a MUST – The name Couch Potato was given due to the ease of this route. The trail is well laid out circular route of about 2,2 km.
